For the reconstruction of several canteen areas within Cologne's student union, Indevisio has been charged with developing indoor perspectives and first design proposals at the forefront of the real building activity.

The reconstruction works were both necessary and desirable due to capacity bottlenecks. At the same time they were also meant to create new, bigger and more modern facilities with frontline cooking, up to date food counter and guidance system.

Based on the existing graphic Corporate design, which uses a series of different colors for various topics, the same principle and range of colors have been adapted for the canteen areas as well.

For the South mid floor canteen where food of higher standard is going to be served, red colored backlit counter elements have been planned the patterns of which, together with a black granite countertop and the walls in facing concrete, create an elegant contrast.

In the Northern part of the ground floor level more low cost meals are going to be served. In this context, blue backlit counter elements have been chosen, forming a unit with the grey-blue-black spotted granite, the greyish pavement and the steel elements of the glass cabinets.

On the wall large-size and colorful pictures have been planned which show closeups of various gastronomic details corresponding to the relevant counters.

For the catering area on the southern ground floor level where exclusively vegetarian and biological meals are being offered, the counter elements have been chosen in the CI's green color and with a rather environmental motif.
